Thermal Ablation for Nodular Thyroid Disease: Latest Evidence and Indications

Thermal ablation (TA) has increasingly been recognized as an acceptable and recommended treatment strategy for nodular thyroid disease. Its favorable safety profile and promising long-term efficacy make it an attractive alternative to surgery. This review highlights the latest evidence and clinical indications for ultrasound-guided TA of thyroid nodules, with particular emphasis on radiofrequency and microwave ablation.
